Everyone's doing it!

Udachi? Watch this space for more in the near future. In the meantime check his Jack Got Jacked remix maybe on Beatport or summink - it's well good. This one is different to usual but I dig lots.

We Own The Sky (Udachi Dubstep Edit) - M83 [RUDEEE]

Hervé? Yeh he's produced a few goodies recently. "Beat Bang" which was one of my favourite tracks from last year has recently been released on Dim Mak Records with some tasty remixes including one from the Mystery Jets. Check it. However back to the point, I wonder how many more like this are to come.

This was tune of the day in my headphones, had it for quite a while but has definitely floated under the radar. Another Toddla T & Ross Orton production.

Let The Spirit (Toddla T & Ross Orton Remix) - Roots Manuva [RUDEEE]

Roots Manuva's third album was released September last year and from what I've heard so far, I think I'm going to buy it so therefore I think you should too. Buy it here. Remixes come from Hot Chip, Ross Orton & Toddla T and I think Metronomy was something to do with something as well. I also have a feeling Toddla T was on the buttons for the album. Not too sure.

This is a slightly beefed up version emphasising the lovely beats.

I'd also highly recommend this from Toddla T & Ross Orton.

At the young age of 22, Excision has already established himself as one of the rising stars in the world of Dubstep. Upon starting his own label Rottun Recordings, his plans to bring the dark side of Dubstep to the dancefloor have been successful as is evident by the sell out and re-pressing of each release and whilst getting plays from headliners worldwide. He discovered the up and coming scene in 2005 when he became hooked on the raw sounds he heard booming out of the speakers.

Mumdance Mix 14.01.09

Cocknose!
artwork by: Joe Haddock
"Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo,

Jack Adams/
Mumdance here, just wanted to send through a brand new 30 min mixtape which I did last Wednesday on Sinden's Kiss FM show. I was really happy with the selection so thought I would polish it up, repackage it with a nice cover (which makes me laugh every time I look at it) & send it out to the family...

As always the aim of this mixtape was to do something a bit different & push things forward, the loose theme being "Global Bass". The majority of the mix is brand new & exclusive music, which I have coupled with some more obscure cult classics.

Stick it on your iPod & enjoy..."

Hopefully these will be appreciated as music you may not of heard...

A bit off topic I know, but a truly amazing producer and musican. He's been around the block releasing records of many different styles and is signed to Warp Records. Jamie Liddell famous for experimental early electronic music and then remaking his musical career with high energy live electro-funk shows.

Heres one of his original tracks taken from his most recent album JIM.

Jamie Liddell - Multiply

And another of his tracks:

Very 'good' + musically interesting, he uses alot of live sampling vocal samples beat boxing etc for his shows and adds alot of 'performance elements' to his sets.

This track really caught my eye - it's the track in the video but with a remix by Mr. Oizo. It has an original sound much like the rest of his stuff. Straight upbeats with off beat piano stabs. Perfect walking music.

Jamie Liddell - Little Bit Of Feel Good (Mr.Oizo Mix)

Continuing with Mr.Oizo, heres a track he did from the recent Lambs Anger EP featuring Uffie on vocals. I'm very suprised there hasn't been a string of remixes of this track out yet - or atleast one from Feadz.

Mr. Oizo - Steroids (Feat. Uffie)

And the lastly.. a few Uffie tracks you may not of heard by Paris based M.I.T.C.H. found these a year or so ago, so may be well known to some of you but if not, quite a nice range of remixes.

M.I.T.C.H. - Fais Rentrer Les Euros (Larytta Remix) (bit Santogold'y)

M.I.T.C.H. - Fais Rentrer Les Euros (Feadz's Vocal Remix) (different...)

M.I.T.C.H. - Fais Rentrer Les Euros (Unreleased Audioporno Remix) (bassssssyyy)

Is this your cup of tea?

The

The slightly damaged minds of The Kabeedies (Katie, Evan, Rory and Fab) got together from around the Norwich area in October 2006. Since then they have been making ladies and gentlemen dance all over the UK with 3 tours supporting the likes of CSS and Futureheads. In 2008 they did a Huw Stevens BBC Radio 1 session at Maida Vale studios and played at the Glastonbury and Latitude festivals. They so far have released 2 singles with many more to come.

Have a listen to what Evan likes to do in his free time... a fidgetty little arrangement of dancey noises.

Introducing JAYOU

JAYOU

Just got these tracks through the inbox and my GOD! this is some full on side steppin', stomach churning, dubstep that needs to get noticed. Jayou also know as James Martin adds these heavy wobbly beats to the ever growing Manchester dubstep scene. He currently runs the night Oh NO! and one of his main aims for this year is to get the party properly up and raving. Be sure to get down and support it.

He first bought his midi keyboard two years ago, figured out how to use the on/off button last year and since then has taught himself the ins and outs of Logic. It seems to be working wonders!

Crack Hands – Jayou

Yes yes this track has been overplayed soooo much, most of us can't bare to listen to it anymore but even if this is the case you need to get your winter red ears round this remix. Works the vocals nicely, the first drop teases you with what’s to come in the second and by that time you need to be bouncing. V nice!

Day n’ Nite (Jayou's Hold The Phone Remix) - Kid Cudi

If I had a 2009 list on the go, this one would definitely be noted for sure and if you're a Dubstep DJ or vinyl addict, you should be hassling to get this pressed. BIG TUNE!

Ghost - Jayou [RUDEEE]

I'm feeling a little hint of Fake Blood but in a different style? We need more…!

Enjoy.

FOR THE WIN RECORDS

For

Dubstep/Dub/Tech

Here is a relatively new label emerging from the Nottingham/Derby area. All artists on the label are heavily involved with nights around the area and produce a varied range of Dubstep. Some heavy, some techy, some minimally – check it.

Earlybird, a Nottingham born and bred producer started life as a garage DJ. With a release already out on Geoim’s label Berkane Sol and many more planned for the future combined with recent DJ bookings alongside Youngsta, Seven and Coki and his tune 'Net Weight' (feat.Geiom) being played by Mary Anne Hobbs - his future is looking very bright indeed.

6907
Dragon Chaser
Skankowt
Tropicana

Ashburner, the only person who seems to be holding up a lighter out of Derby has made massive waves in the last year. His tune 'Dead Mans Shoes' was featured in Jakes' top ten in ATM Magazine and he’s received DJ support from the likes of Jakes, 24k, Sam Supa and Beezy to name but a few. Also with frequent plays on Rinse.fm, Sub.fm, Dubstep.fm, React.fm and having been offered his own show on Fly.fm (Tuesdays 8-9pm), 2009 could certainly be his year.

Derek
Dub Coma
Stamina [RUDEEE]
Untitled [RUDEEE]

Enigma, the man/machine behind Nottingham’s biggest dubstep night MISST comes with his first tunes straight out of the studio. He brings a really nice minimal vibe to the table with some serious bass. Also having put together a really nice remix of one of Spam Chop’s tunes, this is only the beginning of this producer...

Doors
Back To Ya Roots

Blitzz, a MISST resident which has played along side the likes of N-Type, Walsh, Distance, Headhunter, Geoim, Rusko, Chef, Hatcha... the list goes on and on. Now he’s put his head deep into the production chamber and has come out with some dancefloor gold. Absolute neck breakers these ones, be sure to watch out for some serious collab action from this boy in the future.

Toasting [RUDEEE]
Why So Serious

The first promo EP also included a couple of other tracks from Metaphi and DFRNT. Be sure to check these ones out too.

Introducing KALIMIST

Kalimist

I posted a track by Kalimist a few days ago but needed to hear more. He got in touch and has sent over a few more tracks which show his versatility. He’s unsigned, hailing from Tel-Aviv and well… I think his production is top! Promising future – some label needs to snap him up.

Firstly in these two, I feel a kinda Gangsta/Rap influence combined with a deep purring bassline. Aggressive vocals, money, gunshots, sirens… they’re all in there.

Oakham Hustla
We Don’t Give A Fuck

Then there’s this one which I’m also a big fan of. If Muslims liked Dubstep (I’m not saying they don’t) then this should be what they blare out of the mosque in the morning to call them for prayer time. If this did happen then I’d love to live near a mosque! Best alarm clock ever. Get me? Or is that a silly idea?! Ha.

Miles & Jerry’s

And lastly - still my favourite as I just can’t fault it no matter how many times or how loudly I play it. I love that whining sound to start then the simple yet effective beat kicks and still there’s that fabulous bassline to come. (check this previous post – the picture should be the artwork if it ever gets released!)

Introducing LEVEL 67

Level 67

Daniel, also know as Level 67 is a 21 year old producer from Sweden. He's been active in the music business for a long time, producing his music with Reason and a keyboard out of his apartment in Stockholm. Only very recently has he been converted to the Dubstep scene. His influences come from a variety of genres – mainly Rap and Grime acts around the world but, in his own words - “the best influence is my daily life.”

“Level 67 has big things coming!”

I’ll go with him on that one if he carries on with this electro/dub/dubstep filth topped off with some dark vocal snippets. Check his myspace for a couple of other tunes (not too much info from what I can see – but that will come).

I’m sure he’d love some encouragement and feedback from the listeners.

BLOCK ROCKIN' #1

WARNING: LOUD

This is the first installement of the BLOCK ROCKIN' BEATS series.

I wasn't gonna do another post until Wednesday but seeing as I've been itching to get these out cos they are so RUDEEEEEE... I thought why not. You're not allowed to even preview these through your laptop speakers - go find a big rig, stick it in the back of a lorry and be as antisocial as you can. Wake those fucking neighbours up and get them jiggling. I hope that you like these as much as I do - I also hope you haven't heard any of them!

1. Dope Fiend (Tommie Sunshine & Udachi Remix) - Audio Bullys
Udachi - every track I hear gets better and better.

2. Dem Na Like Me (King Cannibal Remix) - The Qemists (feat. Wiley)
Dem Na Like Me EP - coming out soon n has got some big remixes on it.

3. Right Here (The Deficient Remix) - Brandy

ARROWS TO THE SKY !!!

ARROW !!!

Electro/Glitchy/Breaks/Tribal

This being the non stop electro steam train otherwise known as ARROW !!! – undoubtedly one of my favourite producers.

It has been a busy couple of years for Arrow, firstly the release of his D.O.E.S EP which received a sterling response from the likes of I-DJ and DJ Mag - both rating it a much deserved 5/5. It also included a remix from the well known French man Breakbot. Go check it at Beatport.

D.O.E.S (Night Facilities Remix) – ARROW !!!

Next, the fantastic Pro 7 remix which made a big impression on the Beatport charts - number 1 for a bit if I remember rightly and the vinyl was 3rd on Juno. One review went:

“Now this remix is stunning! Apart from being a stand up gentleman with a clever name, ARROW !!! delivers in spades on this mix. It's dark, tribal, dirty, electroey, edit-happy, and whatever the fuck else you could want in a tech-funky house tune. The long climbing build before the first break is well done, and when it drops… I made the holy shit face! Like, I don’t really know how to describe this tune other than cock hardening. It's the shit. Hands down... the shit.” NSB

Dyslexic Disco (ARROW !!!’s Technically Ill Mix) – Pro 7 [RUDEEE]

Also not to forget this absolutely massive Rogue Element remix which also clinched a top ten position in the Beatport Electronica Chart on it’s release.

Panic Attacks (ARROW !!!’s Jack Tech Remix) – The Rogue Element

But most importantly he is the founder of East London’s most jackin’ free club night "Superfilth" which started back in March ‘07. Superfilth has played host to some of rudest DJs on the planet, and has got a monster of a headliner for its party in February… “J@c*B_a^t#” - BIG!!

SUPERFILTH !!!

2009 looks promising with plans to release a second EP relatively soon and as he claims “Arrow gets his work done properly and on time!!!” Keep your eyes peeled for this one.

Please Yourself (ARROW !!! Remix) – Machine
Duckalicious (ARROW !!!’s Dry Carnival Mix) - Madox

Cheeky little mash/mix up?

Pills Of Nazareth – ARROW !!!

Kalimist

This track deserves it's own post because it's very very good.

Kalimist - arguably the top sativa strain available today. With 90% sativa genetices, Kali Mist grows into tall, running, classically sativa plants with very few leaves. For connoisseur stash there is nothing like the almost 100% sativa flowers from Kali Mist. A superb sativa with a high calyx-to-leaf ratio and long, running tops that produce full, fluffy, buds. Expect spiraling buds with a high resin content and a delightfully spicy scent. Kali Mist won the 1995 High Times Cannabis Cup for Best Hydro and is the personal choice smoke for many expert gardeners.

... so get out your biggest skins, sit back and n blaze this one right down to the roach.

Egyptian Gash

Egyptrixx

Grizzzzzzle.

The up n coming Egyptrixx, just sent over this brand new screaming monster taken from his forthcoming All That Jelly EP out on Vicious Pop Records in Jan/Feb time. His sound definitely isn’t just bassline though, anything bass heavy! He fits into the same scene as Kanji Kinetic, and every song’s a different mixture between dubstep/bassline/electro/garage – the later stuff pushing more and more onto the dubstep scene. All bouncy goodness with lots of energy. Definitely check their myspaces for more examples of their BIG playful, bassy sounds.

“Egyptrixx walks a thin line between Ghettotech, Jackin’ House, Bassline and Dubstep.”

Use Magic To Kill Death – Egyptrixx
Kevin Costner Mixtape – Egyptrixx
The Power (Kanji Kinetic) – Snap!
Running Away (Kanji Kinetic) – Space Cowboy

I first heard about Kanji Kinetic this time last year, now pretty big in the bass scene but I think he’s gonna get even bigger. Get his Bakemono & Shock Tactics EPs – they’re well good innit.

Next I have to thoroughly recommend buying the Foreign Beggars Hit That Gash Remixes EP (out on vinyl 2nd February). It comes with 9 remixes and pretty much every one is a goody. I’d also recommend their other albums if you haven’t already discovered them, and like little a bit of Hip Hop. I saw these boys for the first time in November while I was visiting a friend at Leeds – small venue and it was rammed. I see the Foreign Beggars as the top dogs in the UK Hip Hop scene. Clever lyrics, good beats and a bouncy live show – which then halfway through drops into dubstep to make it even better. Don’t really know much about Hip Hop, but I do know that UK is a lot better than American! Well, that’s just my opinion of course.

Gash is up there with some of the most horrible words in our vocabulary – along with clunge and cunt (I don’t see a problem with cunt but lots of girls disagree!), but here we have to love it. Here’s a dirty Dubstep re-rub from DJ Primecuts (watch out for his productions in ’09) and a filthy Electro remix from Kid Dub.

Introducing NERO

Nero

Now here is a duo that has really been catching people's attention with their banging bass drums and heavy basslines that seem to roll and skip into place so nicely. The two go under the name Nero - signed to Formation Records and have been producing tracks for them since 2004. They are formally known for their Drum & Bass but have just properly broken into the Dubstep scene with their brilliant Something Else EP.

Nero have had very big airplay support from radio DJs such as Joe Whiley, Rob da Bank, Zane Lowe, Pete Tong... as well as DJ Hype on Kiss FM.

Here is a mixtape from April 08 - if you haven't heard it already then you need to...

BECOME A FAN!

Go on...Go on...Go on...

Now that we have a fair amount of traffic visiting our blog we wanna try and keep track of who you lovely people are. Hopefully you're loving the music? There's an extra special little treat for you below if you follow the simple instructions. I know most will, but not all have a Facebook account but I think it might be worth joining just for the treat!

We have just set up a Fan Page and have decided once we have at least 200 fans on the page then we'll give out the password to the track below. But... don't become a fan if you ain't a fan cos that would be silly. Get me.

If you haven't read the blog before then have a quick look over the posts below to see what kind of stuff to expect in '09. We properly started blogging from the end of November but there are definitely other jems before that.

Our aim is to promote and introduce artists from all electronic genres with an emphasis on the smaller/underground/unheard of producers.

We are big fans of Dubstep, however - "a tune is a tune" and we are definitely gonna stick to that rule.

***************************************************

Not many people have this tune (if you haven't heard it then there's even more reason to become a fan) but it was featured on Rusko's latest essential mix and has had a massive reaction all round. Some people may have ripped it off Youtube or Myspace but this is not good and it definitely isn't being given out easily. This is the full version at 192kbps. You're gonna have to wait for it's release, if it ever gets released, to pick up the 320. And if it does get released then NumberNin6 deserves all your money. Here it is... BOOM!

NY RESOLUTION : MORE BASS ?

David Shrigleyimages by David Shrigley

Had a sweet night at the NYE party and played the midnight slot which was smooooth. Cheers to Zak for putting that on and all the work etc. Nackered now but got stuff to post so going to do a quickie with not much info but some tunnnnessss.

High Rankin is smashing it, this one has been around for a while but deserves more respect for quite how filthy it is. He also played an amazing set at Big Fat Trouble.

High Rankin - You, Me And The Devil

No idea really about this - just found it and love the sound. Heavy guitar cuts shoved with heavvvy beats. Turn it up full, shut your eyes and wait for the drop!

Amp Fiddler - If I Don't (Dubstep Remix)

Found this one on Tempa's Dubstep Allstars Vol. 5. Hadn't heard about Luke Envoy before but this is biiig. Original sound. Perfect 4am tune.

Luke Envoy - So

My new 'TOO MUCH FUN" mix is out tomorrow if I get any time to do the live take... expect 30 seconds max on each track.

All for now. Need sleep.
